Stash Statement Blog Tour

Hi there! I am really excited about today's post! Today is my turn on the Stash Statement Blog Tour!

If you haven't heard about or seen Kelly's new book - you really need to check it out! It is full of fun projects that you can sew from your stash!

For my project, I picked the Louvered Quilt featured on page 18 of the book.

Instead of making a quilt, I thought it would be fun to make a table runner out of the blocks!

The blocks for this quilt actually sew up rather quickly, and I had a lot of fun sewing them up.  I used V and Co's Confetti Cottons for my runner - and I love how bright and cheery they are!  I decided on a darker background for my version of the Louvered Quilt - so those bright colors would pop!

This quilt definitely has a modern look to it, so I decided to quilt it with some geometric lines!  I used a grey thread so it would blend nicely.  I also used the background fabric as the binding! Not something I normally do, but I thought it would compliment the modern look of the runner.

I had a lot of fun making my project! Be sure to check out the other stops for more inspiration from Kelly's Book!

  1. Modern and clean look! I love the way black makes colors pop! Great job!

  2. I made Louvered into placemats for my stop on the blog hop! Love your tablerunner - the dark background is wonderful with the fun colors you used for the "bricks!"

  3. Beautiful table runner, Lindsey! The dark background really makes those Louvered blocks pop, and that quilting motif is perfect! Thank you so much for participating in the Stash Statement blog hop!

:) Kelly @ My Quilt Infatuation

  4. I love your runner - what fun colors!

  5. It's so beautiful! I'm so happy to see Ombre Confetti all sewn together ... what a lovely table runner!

  6. I like your choice (and the reason) for using the dark background fabric. Also, using the same fabric for the binding means the binding does not distract from the piecing --- good choices IMHO.

  7. Very nice! A runner was a great idea!

  8. Beautiful tablerunner and love the color of your scraps!

  9. I love your choice of fabrics for your runner! I just used the hot pink for a baby quilt for my niece who loves everything pink. I love the gradation of the colors in the fabric. Thanks for sharing!!

  10. Love the confetti prints. Well done.

  11. It’s just lovely! Looks like it was fun to stitch up!

  12. This is beautiful! Your take on the Louvered pattern shows that Kelly's technique isn't just for scraps. Focusing on that one V and Co. line and then pairing it with a darker background was brilliant!
